Hi- my name is Heila Blair and I’m fourth-generation from Tahuya, Washington about as local and rural as it gets. I’ve known since childhood that I wanted to work in healthcare, and began volunteering as a candy striper at Mason General Hospital in Shelton in the 1990’s. In 2009, I became a licensed RN. My nursing career began at Martha & Mary Health and Rehab in Poulsbo before transitioning into public health.

For over a decade, I served as a Public Health Nurse for local Tribes, managing both Tribal and State public health programs. I’ve also been part of the Seattle King County Public Health Child Care Health team and have volunteered with the Kitsap County Medical Reserve Corps since 2020. In 2018, I launched an independent nurse consulting business, which I plan to continue indefinitely to keep my clinical skills sharp.

My public health experience has laid a strong foundation for my second career in health insurance. It allows me to continue doing what I love: supporting and giving back to my local communities. There is no doubt that quality healthcare is essential which is why it’s important to have a qualified professional that understands the nuances of insurance. Because I want to help my clients obtain the best plan for them, I contract with most local insurance companies.  This also ensures my clients feel supported through the process, and aren’t being pigeon-holed into options that may not be ideal for their unique circumstances.
